About the Show

1967 to 1972 – The Age of Aquarius – An era when Rock N Roll evolved from popular music into a powerful force set against the backdrop of introspection, social unrest, and military action under a burgeoning umbrella of peace and love.

Theatre West’s THE AGE OF AQUARIUS is a joyful celebration of the music of the soul of this extraordinary time. Highlighting artists like Tina Turner, Linda Ronstadt, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, The Mamas and the Papas, The Beach Boys, Aretha Franklin, Simon & Garfunkel, Roberta Flack, Carole King, The Beatles, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and more!

With songs performed including California Dreamin’, San Francisco, Good Vibrations, The Sound of Silence, Happy Together, Proud Mary, Respect, Pinball Wizard, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Hey Jude, Born to Be Wild, Foxy Lady, and Take It Easy—to name just a few.

Victoria Lavan Headshot
Victoria Lavan
Director / Creator / Producer

Victoria Lavan is an accomplished singer, actor, award-winning director, and teacher. Her performance career spans 30 years and includes opera, symphony, concert, music theatre, cabaret, and theatre credits. Directing credits at Theatre West include Love, Actually, Winter Wishes, and the award-winning So Many Stars. Her solo show Dance Me to the End of Love: My Love Affair with Music was performed at Theatre West in April 2024. Victoria is an Estill Master Trainer and Director of Vocal Health at AMDA College of the Performing Arts, and she proudly serves Theatre West as the moderator for the Betty Garrett Musical Theatre Workshop.

John Goux Headshot

John A. Goux is a 9th generation Southern Californian but spent most of his growing up years in Seattle, Washington. After earning a master’s degree in music and media, he began his career as a professional musician and full Professor of Music at Seattle Pacific University, performing and teaching music and mathematics for 39 years. John is a published writer for Mercedes-Benz Club of America. California Soul: A Descendant’s Story, his debut novel, is historical fiction based on his own true family history. John Goux is a direct descendent of 10 of the 44 people who settled Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara in the late 18th and 19th centuries. A staged reading of scenes from California Soul was produced at Theatre West in October 2024.

Dina Morrone is thrilled to be teaming up again with Victoria Lavan after the award-winning musical event So Many Stars. Other shows produced by Dina at Theatre West include the award-winning solo show The Italian In Me and the 12-person comedy Moose on the Loose, as well as My Uterus: A Womb With A View, The Sunday Night Solo Series, Portraits 2, SOLOpalooza 2.0, The Galaxy of Phil Hendrie, Jim Goins’ lecture presentation of his new musical Saint George the Knight (about composer Chevalier), Who I Am for Black History Month, and Associate Producer for Not Your Cup of Tea (AAPI).

Constance Mellors

Constance Mellors is thrilled to be part of another musical event at Theatre West. A longtime member of TW, she most recently costarred in Moose on the Loose. She studied at Neighborhood Playhouse with Sanford Meisner and has appeared in many Off-Broadway productions and episodic TV roles. Thank you for coming and supporting live theatre!

David Mingrino Headshot
David Mingrino

David Mingrino has been in well over 100 productions on stage, including the world premieres Walking in Space, The Man Who Saved Everything, and Verdigris here at Theatre West. Other credits include Room Service (which had six Ovation nominations, including Best Ensemble). Musicals in summer stock and dinner theatre include Motel in Fiddler on the Roof, the Emcee in Cabaret, and dancing “Steam Heat” in Pajama Game, to name a few. He would like to thank Victoria Lavan for helping him find his voice again after so many years, and his husband Michael for riding this roller coaster with him for the last 29.

Donald Moore

For multiple decades, Donald Moore has performed on the stage, worked behind the scenes, sat on the Artistic Board, and served as moderator of the Actors Workshop of Theatre West. He takes special joy from his many memories of the incredible theatre professionals he has had the privilege to call his colleagues and friends. And as he looks at the many supremely talented people performing the music of the ’60s and ’70s, he is grateful to feel like he’s 17 once again…well, sort of.

Melodee Fernandez

Melodee Fernandez is thrilled to perform in Theatre West’s Aquarius music concert. In March she sang the role of Abuela Claudia (In the Heights) at Long Beach City College. This September she will be seen in the documentary Whistle, premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. In Theatre West’s past musical showcase, she sang music from Waitress and In the Heights. With Storybook, she has performed Granny (Little Red Riding Hood) and the Witch (Hansel and Gretel). She played Ruby Ybarra (Remembering Boyle Heights II) at CASA0101 and Juana/Old Juana (Cesar and Ruben) directed by Ed Begley Jr. Melodee also directs the LA Opera Zarzuela Project.

Meg Lin

A proud Theatre West member, Meg Lin’s stage work at TW includes Moose on the Loose, Love Stinks, We’re Not Your Cup of Tea, multiple staged table readings, and Storybook Theatre’s Aladdin, the Princess, and the Magic Lamp. Meg’s other favorite performances include playing Polonius in Hamlet with Hyperactive Studios and performing her award-winning autobiographical solo show, What Am I, Chopped Suey?, at the 2022 Hollywood Fringe Festival. As an Aquarius, Meg is honored to be performing in this special show with so many talented people.

Michael Van Duzer Headshot
Michael Van Duzer

Michael Van Duzer has directed many Los Angeles productions, including As You Like It, Edward II, The Lisbon Traviata, and In On It. He directed his plays Hopeful Romantic, Recalled to Life, and Tawdry Tales. At Theatre West, he directed The Man Who Saved Everything and numerous WestFest shows. His play Incitation to the Dance is scheduled to open on this stage in February. As a performer, he appeared in Sons of God, Winter Wishes, So Many Stars, Clive and Cecily, and the Theatre West and Off-Broadway companies of Our Man in Santiago, winning a Robby Award for his performance as Henry Kissinger.

Paul Cady has musically directed shows such as Avenue Q, That Lovin’ Feeling (Righteous Brothers musical), Wizard of Oz, and Nightmare Before Christmas, to name a few. As an actor and singer, Paul has performed in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Al in A Chorus Line, Johnny Brown in The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Samuel in the national tour of The Pirates of Penzance, and Captain John Smith in The Spirit of Pocahontas for Disneyland.

Vertreace Sanders is a 24-year-old singer, recording artist, actress, model, writer, and all-around performer from Flora, Mississippi. She studied Musical Theatre at The American Musical & Dramatic Academy, graduating from the Conservatory in New York in 2021 and earning her BFA from AMDA College of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles in 2024. In 2020, she was featured on the BET Soul Train Awards after being handpicked by Jazmine Sullivan following a viral TikTok video. She was later mentored by Grammy-winning producer Zaytoven, known for working with Usher and Nicki Minaj. Since then, she has built a loyal audience of over 60,000 supporters online and continues making waves as a rising force in music and performance.

Auriana Chisholmis a singer and actress born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She graduated with her BFA in Musical Theatre from AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts. She is excited to move forward with her musical theatre journey. She played Ronnette in Nocturne Theatre’s production of Little Shop of Horrors after graduation. She was also a part of NPR Tiny Desk with Shae Universe, appeared in Mustard’s music video for the song Pray For Me, and sings background for artist Noah Guy. She expresses her gratitude and love to her family and friends for their unwavering support!

Aaron Gillis Headshot
Aaron Gillis

Aaron Gillis is a dynamic vocalist, actor, and storyteller from Baltimore. He began his classical voice training at the Baltimore School for the Arts and is currently pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Los Angeles. Favorite roles include Angel in Rent and the Baker in Into the Woods. He has also performed at the Kennedy Center and opened for R&B icon Ne-Yo at the AFRAM Festival. Beyond theatre, Aaron is a songwriter, background vocalist, and model, currently creating his debut project of original music, set to release next year. Instagram: @aaronjuniormusic

Jana Souza

Jana Souza is a Native Hawaiian singer, actress, and dancer born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii. She attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and Los Angeles, where she gained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts. After graduating, she spent the next five years performing around the world. Currently, Jana spends most of her time teaching and performing at the Lineage Performing Arts Center and is the lead singer of Entourage, a pop/rock party band. Some of Jana’s most recent credits include: Maureen (Rent), Claire (CA Soul: A Descendant’s Story), Sally Bowles (Cabaret), and Natalie (Next to Normal).

Cody Kelepolo is beyond thrilled to return to Theatre West! His previous credits include Grease (Kenickie – VOPA), Winter Wishes (Theatre West), Thadius Steed (Theatre West), Beauty and the Beast (Moonlight Amphitheatre), The Bodyguard (Frank Farmer – AMDA), The Who’s Tommy (Tommy/Narrator – Norris Theatre), Aida (Radamès – AMDA), Ghost (Sam – AMDA), and Fame (Nick – AMDA). Harleigh Ford fell in love with performing at a young age and couldn’t kick the habit, leading her to earn a BFA in Musical Theater from AMDA. Since then, she has performed around the world in musicals, concerts, and cabarets, taking the stage both on land and at sea as a lead production singer on Princess Cruises. Highlights include starring in Stephen Schwartz’s Magic to Do, Rent (Maureen), Les Misérables (Éponine), and appearances at New York’s iconic 54 Below. You may have also seen her in past Theatre West productions, So Many Stars and Winter Wishes. Love and thank you to Victoria!!!

His work ethic has earned him leading roles in musicals, opportunities to perform at world-class event venues like the Sydney Opera House, and admission to prestigious universities to study and train. Jim Varley – Drummer

Jim Varley has worked with Seals and Crofts, José Feliciano, Kim Carnes, Neil Sedaka, and the Sanford Townsend Band. Based in Los Angeles, he also performed in Love Actually, Winter Wishes, So Many Stars, Dance Me to the End of Love, and WestFest ’24 at Theatre West.

Peter Snell – Guitar

Peter Snell has played with Lyle Lovett, Annie Lennox (Eurythmics), Macy Gray, Rickie Lee Jones, and many others. His project, In Vitro, was signed to Capitol Records and is now recording and playing locally in the Los Angeles area. He has joined Theatre West for Winter Wishes, So Many Stars, Dance Me to the End of Love, and WestFest ’24.

Tom Griep – Music Director / Keyboard

Tom Griep has worked with some of the most talented singers in the business, including Sutton Foster, Carol Channing, Nathan Lane, Rita Moreno, Cher, Tommy Tune, David Hyde-Pierce, Bobby Vinton, Paul Anka, Olivia Newton-John, and Leslie Odom Jr. (2016 Tony Award for Hamilton). He has conducted the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the Oklahoma Symphony, and the Greensboro Symphony, and he has been pianist for Lorna Luft (daughter of Judy Garland) with the Orlando Symphony. In Los Angeles he has served as conductor or assistant at major theatres, including Mamma Mia – Shubert Theatre; The Ten Commandments – Kodak Theatre; The Will Rogers Follies – South Bay Civic Light; Big River – Mark Taper Forum; The Dead – Dorothy Chandler Pavilion; Annie Get Your Gun – Orange County Performing Arts Center; and Camelot at the Hollywood Bowl.

Jan Roper – Music Workshop / Rehearsal Pianist & Chart Preparation

Jan Roper has worked for many years as a singer and performer, playing many high-profile gigs and venues. She had her own original band (Breathing Room and then The Horizons) and released two records under those band names. A composer, she has written a few musicals over the years, including The Path to Catherine, América Tropical, City of Light, and Jerusalem A.D., of which she is immensely proud. Jan has been a musical theater director over the last decade, which has brought her tremendous joy, bringing together all her skills into one big package working with some truly beautiful and talented people along the way. In 2019, Jan was honored to receive the LA Scenie Award for Music Director of the Year for all of her cumulative work. She is also proud to be on the Teaching and Accompanist Staff at AMDA, College of the Performing Arts, a school that has launched some of the most successful careers in theatre, film, and television.

Bill von Ravensberg – Bass

Bill von Ravensberg has toured and recorded with Andy Williams, Jennifer Warnes, Tom Jones, and Neil Sedaka, among others. Based in Los Angeles, he also performed in Love Actually, Winter Wishes, So Many Stars, Dance Me to the End of Love, and WestFest ’24 at Theatre West.
