A two-act historical drama. Marshal Petain was a French general in World War I and was the hero of the Battle of Verdun. In World War II, he was President of France and collaborated with Hitler and was a traitor. He always believed that his mission was to save French lives. He did that for his soldiers. As President of Vichy France, he did that by sacrificing the Jews.

She ultimately realizes that we cannot control life or death, and that it is in giving that we find the richest living.

DB’s journey is lonelier, as he cannot communicate with the women, and he must learn how to abandon the world and accept his spiritual destiny. By the end, the women trust and appreciate each other, and DB moves on.
